Responsible for managing multiple programmes and projects within Satellite and Media, prioritising and scheduling work and resources as required. Focusing on the Digital Media Networks, Enterprise and non UK sales projects.

Responsible for all the RF projects for BskyB, providing consultancy project management including procurement, finance, delivery and operations of satellite infrastructure and services for all BskyB broadcasting projects. RAN Design Customer Programme/Project Manager

Working in an Agile and Waterfall environment, responsible for drafting and implementing a working model for new introduction of hardware and software into the mobile communications industry. Responsible for writing processes and procedures which are now BAU at Ericsson. Responsible for the design and delivery of new products into the 4G/LTE, 3G and 2G networks for a number of organisations including; MBNL, Everything Everywhere, O2 and 3 UK. Provided interim consultancy to enable the team to implementing solutions on the RAN Design & Operations phase of the MBNL Programme. Delivery of the following elements of the RAN design programme for Ericsson.

 

·         Provided budget management for a number of concurrent projects including full budget forecast for financial year

·         Managing a portfolio of projects that range from LTE Trials to Spectrum Re-farming and Site Integration projects

·         Organised and planned the end-to-end aspect of the project including assessing and managing risks & issues

IT Programme Manager

Project Television Centre Closure (BBC)  –  Head of Satellite Earth Station/IT

Responsible for the delivery of a successful bid for the relocation of a satellite earth station within the UK on the BBC account including the RFQ process and the selection of suppliers. Managing all the work streams and providing all documentation and commercial negotiations between 3rd Party suppliers and the customer. Heavily involved in the High Level designs of the proposal from Service Integration through to Service level agreements. The preparation of all project documentation to be included with the bid, documents include:

 

·         Project timelines (Gantt Chart)

·         Project Budget documentation. Providing capex costs (£35m) and projected opex costs.

·         RAID documentation

·         Project Design Documentation, including Visio schematics and detailed Autocad designs.

Project HYLAS 2  –  Programme Manager Earth Segment

Project managing the delivery of 3 Satellite Earth Stations across Europe providing detailed day to day management of all aspects of the earth station build from Civil Works through to backhaul connectivity. Overall control of the full project lifecycle including budget management (£28m).

Managing the contractual interfaces with suppliers located across Europe and the USA, including the procurement of

Responsible for the management of contract specification, tendering and award. Contractor management to ensure all deliverables are provided according to the integrated project schedule. Working part-time on the installation of over 200 vehicles. Providing a solution including Getac V200 ruggedized terminals for real-time update of information to remote locations. The solution delivered was to update live requirements to the engineers working in the field. Responsibilities included:-

Working on a high profile contract with the emergency services UK.Liaising with companies on a daily basis to ensure the delivery of equipment within stringent timelines.

Performing tests on Motorola MTH800 and MTE800 radios, ensuring that the correct codeplug and configuration is programmed into the radio, to meet client specifications.

Managing the Fleet Register and Bill of Materials to ensure configuration of Radios are met as per contractual agreement and service level agreements

Ordering equipment within Workflow timelines and ensuring delivery of equipment to the relevant fitting workshop. Managing scheduling of inventory adjustments and stock reconfiguration. Compiling and delivering to Senior/Middle

Management, weekly/monthly summary reports to cover supply chain/Procurement activities.

Attending meetings on a weekly basis to ensure that the equipment is managed throughout timeline from manufacture to installation.

June 2008 –August 2008  –  Project Security Ltd (3 month contract)

Project –EDF     – Project Manager

 

Project Manager of a high profile contract on 2 Power Stations in the Midlands and Yorkshire. Key stakeholder management both internal and external, that the press and the threat on the stations were managed and that the company was represented in the best possible light. 

Drafting and ensuring teams were adhering to stringent health and safety policy.

Supervised and managed 2 teams ensuring the highest standards were met, managing shifts, leave, rotas and all aspects of manning.

Conducted risk assessments on site, and enforced the Company Health and Safety policy.

 

March 2008– June 2008  –  Thales (France) (3 month contract – Extended)

Project Manager 

Deployed to various sites across Afghanistan, working with many different nationalities within NATO. Pre-Commissioning Satellite and Direct Line of Site links both within theatre and backhaul links to Europe. Working with many different communications equipments including:

Project- Project Synergy Iraq  –  Satellite Communications Engineer

Providing secure military communications solution for UK national & Multinational forces operating within a hostile environment where incessant communications to users is vital.  Specialising in a multitude of communications equipment, including:

·         VSAT & Microwave link equipments.

·         Cryptographic equipment.

·         Nortel networks Passport switches & Nortel Meridian telephone exchanges.

·         Responsible for maintaining & configuring communications links in theatre.

·         Successfully manned 1 node individually, successfully tested and commissioned new Mobile

               VSAT detachments in theatre and delivered a training package to the Military.

·         Tested and maintained up to 5 nodes within theatre. 

 

1995-2007  –  HM Forces

Various Roles

During 13 years in the HM forces was responsible for a number of roles including Instructor, Stores Management, Project Management, Operator and Technician. Providing expertise in telecommunications ranging from Satcom, RF, DataComms and Fibre Networking. Working closely with both Junior and Senior stakeholders to ensure design and implementation of projects were delivered as per requirements. Integral in designing training plans and implementing training plans to both Senior and Junior students within the HM Forces in the operation and maintenance of Telecommunications Hubs enabling a high level of continuity of operational effectiveness. Working in challenging environments worldwide with stringent timescales and logistical constraints.
