The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) compliance program. Reporting to senior management and regulatory authorities, the MLRO will ensure that the company complies with all applicable AML/CTF laws, regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s AML/CTF compliance program, policies, and procedures in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all AML/CTF-related matters within the company and with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  3. Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential money laundering and terrorist financing risks associated with the company’s products, services, and customers.
  4. Design and deliver AML/CTF training programs for employees to enhance awareness and compliance with AML/CTF requirements.
  5. Establish and maintain effective AML/CTF monitoring and reporting systems to detect and report suspicious activities, including the filing of suspicious activity reports (SARs) as required.
  6. Conduct investigations into suspected cases of money laundering or financial crime, working closely with internal stakeholders and external authorities as necessary.
  7. Stay abreast of developments in AML/CTF laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of the compliance program.
  8. Collaborate with internal departments, such as legal, risk management, and compliance, to ensure alignment and coordination on AML/CTF initiatives.
  9. Prepare and present regular reports on AML/CTF compliance activities, issues, and trends to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  10. Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization, promoting awareness and accountability at all levels.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification in AML/CTF compliance preferred.
  2. Proven experience in AML/CTF compliance, preferably within the financial services or payment industry, with a strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  3. In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  4. Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify and assess money laundering and terrorist financing risks effectively.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  7. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with a commitment to upholding integrity and ethical standards.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and compliance.
  9. Familiarity with AML/CTF compliance technology solutions and tools is desirable.
  10. Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies is a plus.
