PositionWe are looking for an “Programmatic Display Marketing Manager” to help us improve and expand our programmatic marketing campaigns globally. This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Be part of a global team of programmatic marketing experts with changing daily priorities
  • Extract data from databases, write scripts to parse, clean, combine, and process them
  • Work with an extensive programmatic marketing SQL database and prepare reports to derive actionable strategic and campaign focused decisions/actions (e.g. on ROI/conversion performance, landing page optimization or new campaign/market planning)
  • Manage the development of new reporting dashboards and basic mgmt. solutions for digital marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate and manage your efforts in the team and with stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Engineering and Business Development)
  • Develop a tailored global bidding and targeting strategy to improve effectiveness and automation across campaigns
  • Collaborate with external providers (e.g. Google, Bing, Yandex, Facebook) and incorporate their solutions for bidding and reporting
  • Prepare graphs or visualizations of processed data, identify trends, anomalies, patterns
  • Act as a credible and influential member of the organization and have full ownership and accountability for your work
  • This position will be based in our beautiful new Berlin Technology Center near Ostbahnhof in the historic Postbahnhof. The job requires close collaboration with the US-based Analytics team in Boston, MA, which means semi-annual business trips to the US for team activities


This person should love working on data parsing, analyzing, investigating, interpreting, modeling, and extracting knowledge from large volumes of data. At the same time good candidates will have a passion to lead with their results better business decisions in a fast-paced environment. Also it’s essential to have either previous experience with online marketing campaigns or a strong motivation to gain knowledge in the field.

Basic Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science or mathematics/statistics related
  • SQL and database experience is a must, with Hive/Hadoop a plus
  • Programming skills with at least one high-level language such as Python, Perl, Groovy, Java, or C/C++
  • Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and statistics
  • Business understanding and online marketing experience is strongly desired
  • Solid experience of web tracking solutions (e.g. Google Analytics) is a big plus
  • Understanding of bidding or trading algorithms is a plus
  • Results oriented, creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, highly organized
  • Fun, ethical, passionate team player
  • Responsible individual who is comfortable developing a project independently once goals are set
