One of our Global clients in the Betting/Gambling Sector is looking for the following:

The jobholder will be responsible for driving the tax compliance agenda for the company and its affiliate companies (the group) by ensuring an end-to-end execution and formulation of tax strategies, policies and governance framework aligned to the business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship keeping up to date with business priorities and developments to challenge and support the business in improving overall tax management.
• Keep the business up to date with the implications of any tax/regulatory changes and advises in a timely manner on the best course of action by the business to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in line with the business strategies.
• Liaise with the teams responsible for payroll taxes and for customs & excise taxes in the resolution of any audits/assessments relating to these taxes.
• Liaise with relevant external tax advisors and hold them to account for the delivery of timely, cost-effective and value-adding tax advice.
• Proactively work with businesses on direct and indirect tax issues affecting the business.
• Execute tax-related processes, services and activities in compliance with laid down processes, controls, regulations and systems
• Managing the monthly, quarterly and yearly processes of VAT, Withholding Tax, Reverse VAT, Deferred Tax and Corporation Tax computations (and any other relevant taxes) and preparing/reviewing monthly tax returns and follow up for timely filing with, payment to &
reconciliation with tax offices for the different entities.
• Provide effective tax solutions that implement appropriate – tax optimization opportunities for the business while adhering to all laws and regulations responsible for driving the company’s tax planning and execution, enabling exceptional tax project delivery, operational
effectiveness and governance.
• Participate in negotiations with tax authority’s policy matters affecting company business
• Collaborate with Legal to ensure compliance with local financial-legal requirements and other local/ secretarial requirements. In addition, review of contracts to advice on the tax implications therein.
• Manage day to day tax matters of the relevant departments, liaising with Finance and accounting teams.

• Industry Standards, Tax and Compliance: Knowledge of the organization’s policies, protocols, processes, current tax legislation, regulation and ability to develop a business strategy that is informed by these standards and apply them across the business units of the organization.
• Risk Management: Ability to use financial tools to manage exposure to risk, compliance monitoring and knowing the level of internal controls, assigning risk levels and undertaking sample testing of controls.
• Business Analytics (Cost Management, Budgets, Pricing and Performance): Ability to  demonstrate responsive Management Information analysis, reporting and business insight that is produced outside of the usual management reporting cycle to support decision making.
• Business Partnering: As a key liaison between finance and the business, ability to provide advice on financial impacts, Key projects, investments, risks, and opportunities to support relevant finance decisions.

Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Related Studies.
• Professional qualification and membership (Must be a Chartered Certified Accountant).
• Other tax qualifications and law is an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Practical experience in the use of MS packages and ERP systems.
• Experience in international taxes mus

Client are able to assist with relocation to Dubai if required – there is also the opportunity to work from South Africa***
